Claudeforce Open Beta Status (Sept 2026): Still Pilot-Only, 37 Skills

Article last updated:2026-09-03

On 2026-08-26 Salesforce and Anthropic announced an expanded partnership called Claudeforce. It landed during Salesforce’s quarterly earnings call, so most of the coverage was about the stock. This piece is about three things that matter to users instead: what it actually is, when you can have it, and where the two official documents disagree.

1. Claudeforce is three things, not one

Per the official press release:

  1. Salesforce in Claude — a plugin inside Claude containing 37 prebuilt sales skills (the product page phrases it as “37 skills built for sellers, grounded in 27 years of Salesforce experience”). It covers deal-health review, meeting prep, pipeline updates, and Claude-generated interactive views over live revenue data.
  2. Claude inside Salesforce — as the reasoning model in Agentforce, spanning the Atlas Reasoning Engine, Agentforce Vibes, Agentforce Coworker and Agent Builder.
  3. Slack — the release describes Claude embedded across Slack experiences.

Architecturally, the product page’s key term is Headless 360: data, apps, workflows, agents and the governance around them, packaged so AI can call them directly over MCP (Model Context Protocol). This is not a CRM screen stuffed into a chat window; it is the CRM’s action surface exposed to a model.

2. Timeline: September open beta promised, still pilot on Sept 3

Press release and product page agree:

  • Now: select pilot customers only (the product page says “available today for pilot customers”).
  • September 2026: open beta expected.
  • Later in 2026: more prebuilt skills; the roadmap also names Data 360, MuleSoft, Informatica, Tableau and Field Service as getting Claudeforce extensions.

As of our 2026-09-03 check, the official pages still say pilot and “open beta in September”, with no announcement that the beta has opened. If you see a source claiming it is generally available today, check it against the official page. We mark the actual open-beta date as unverified.

3. Rollout model: one admin connection, whole team enabled

Worth its own section because it determines adoption cost. The official wording: an administrator authenticates once, and the whole sales team gets access with no per-user setup. Permissions inherit from Salesforce itself — “Claude sees what the user is authorized to see, and can do what that user is authorized to do”.

In other words, it does not grow a second permission system. Good news for audit, with one consequence: if your Salesforce permissions were already too broad, that breadth becomes the AI’s action radius on day one. The pre-work is a permissions review, not a plugin evaluation.

4. Two places the official documents disagree (logged, not reconciled)

We found two mismatches during verification. We do not merge them or pick a winner:

  1. Amazon Bedrock: the press release says Claude is available within the Salesforce Trust Boundary through Amazon Bedrock, to support regulated industries. The Claudeforce product page does not mention Bedrock at all.
  2. Default model in Slack: the press release describes Claude as embedded as the default AI across Slack. The product page discusses Claude in Slack without asserting default-model status, and instead emphasises zero data retention on Sonnet, Opus and Haiku.

The lesson generalises: secondary coverage routinely converts press-release language into product specification. Before signing anything, read the product documentation and the contract, not the announcement.

5. How to read this if you are not a Salesforce shop

  • You are a Salesforce enterprise customer: what you can do today is ask your account team about pilot or beta eligibility, and audit permissions in your own org. There is no reason to change workflows yet — the beta has not opened.
  • You pay for Claude but have no Salesforce: this release does not touch you; the plugin requires the Salesforce side.
  • You are designing “AI connected to internal systems”: the real signal is that MCP is becoming the standard interface for exposing enterprise systems. Claudeforce follows exactly that pattern — no new interface, existing capabilities wrapped as callable tools.

6. What we could not verify

  • The actual open-beta date: officially still “September”, with no launch announcement as of 2026-09-03. Unverified.
  • Pricing and licensing: neither the press release nor the product page states a price, and packaging is explicitly subject to change. We do not trust any source quoting a figure.
  • The full list of the 37 skills: only the count and representative examples are public. Unverified.
  • Regional availability and which Salesforce editions qualify: not stated. Unverified.
  • The Bedrock and Slack default-model discrepancies in section 4: unresolved. Unverified.

What Amo and Pimi think

AMO Amo Finding faults
PIMI Pimi Advantages
Six tiers is a bit much, sure, but don't forget its long-form handling and writing quality are widely recognized strengths, Chinese support is full, and you can pay directly with a credit card. Pro billed annually works out to about US$17/month — the writing quality really is better than competitors at the same price point. The paid plan includes the Claude Code engineering tool, which is extra value for developers — Amo, you were so busy complaining the free version doesn't have it that you forgot the paid version actually gives you a lot. The Team plan works for 2–150 people, and annual billing brings Standard down to US$20/seat, which isn't a high bar. Plus in May 2026 they permanently doubled the paid-plan quota — the free tier doesn't get it, but paid users genuinely benefit.
So, do you need to pay or not?

For long-form writing and content creation: Pro at US$20/month is worth it. Free-tier users should be prepared — once the rolling quota runs out, you have to wait, and there's no Claude Code. For team use, annual billing is recommended to save 20%.

Let's take a look at these
