HeyGen, the AI avatar and voiceover video tool, put out a product update on 2026-08-11 announcing “HeyGen for Real Estate” — its first tool built for a single profession. The pitch: real estate agents spend hours filming themselves for social media, and most don’t keep it up. HeyGen now offers three ready-made video formats — market updates, listing highlights, and property tours — so agents can produce videos without stepping in front of a camera every week. If you’re wondering what this costs or whether the free tier is actually usable for this, here’s what we found when we checked HeyGen’s pricing page and FAQ.
The company cites NAR (National Association of Realtors) 2025 research: 75% of agents already use social media, but only 46% use AI to make content. HeyGen is positioning this gap as its opening.
Why HeyGen built a real estate-only product
HeyGen says its newest avatar model, Avatar V, beat competing systems from Google, ByteDance, and Kuaishou across identity match, lip-sync accuracy, and natural motion, in human evaluations the company ran. Identity match — how closely the AI avatar resembles the real person — scored 4.98 out of 5. That matters for agents specifically: a personal brand built on video only works if clients recognize the person, not a slightly-off digital stand-in. HeyGen also says it holds two G2 awards: “Most Realistic Avatar” and “Best AI Video Generator” for small business, based on G2’s review platform.
On the safety side, HeyGen requires users to record a consent statement before their face or voice can be used to generate avatars, and restricts use of that face/voice data to the person it belongs to. For real estate agents building a public-facing brand, that’s a reasonable guardrail against someone else generating a video that looks or sounds like them.
The real estate package is live now, and HeyGen is offering hands-on (“white glove”) support to help agents produce their first video.
What this actually changes for your wallet
Here’s the part the announcement glosses over: “HeyGen for Real Estate” is not a new price tier. It’s a set of templates and workflows layered on top of HeyGen’s existing plans. That means the same subscription structure applies — including the same free tier limits.
HeyGen’s free plan is US$0 a month, no credit card required. It gives you 3 videos per month, each capped at 1 minute long, in 1080p at most, using HeyGen’s slowest (“Standard”) processing tier. You get access to 500+ built-in avatars, 1,000+ AI voices (synthetic voice options), 75+ templates, one custom digital avatar of yourself, one voice clone, up to 3 photo-based avatars, and 30+ languages (paid plans unlock 175+). You also get one seat — meaning one user login, relevant if you’re on a team plan later. Free-tier users can use Avatar IV (HeyGen’s newest avatar generation model) and Video Agent, but both are still bound by the 1-minute cap, and video translation is capped at 1 minute per clip too. There’s no separate monthly point allowance on the free plan and no rollover.
Paid plans work on a credit system — a monthly allowance of usage points that different actions (longer videos, higher quality, etc.) draw down. Creator costs US$29/month billed monthly, or US$24/month if you pay annually, and includes 600 credits/month that roll over. Pro starts at US$49/month for 1,000 credits and scales up in tiers to US$4,300/month for 100,000 credits. Business is US$149/month for 1,500 credits, plus US$20 per additional seat per month. Enterprise has no published price — it’s quote-based — but adds no video-length cap, the highest concurrent-processing limits, and admin features like SCIM (automated user provisioning) and MFA (multi-factor authentication).
There’s no sign-up discount or promo code on the pricing page. The only saving is paying annually instead of monthly, which also changes how unused credits carry over — annual plans roll credits forward to your renewal date, while monthly plans only carry them one billing cycle.
🔍 AMPM exclusive check
We checked HeyGen’s pricing page and FAQ against the real estate announcement, and two things stood out that the vendor doesn’t spell out anywhere.
First, “HeyGen for Real Estate” has no listed price of its own. It’s built entirely from existing account tiers and templates — so a real estate agent signing up on the free plan gets the real estate video formats, but is still boxed in by the same 3-videos-a-month, 1-minute-per-video limit as any other free user. The announcement doesn’t mention this; you’d only find it by cross-checking the pricing FAQ separately.
Second, HeyGen’s own feature comparison table lists watermark removal as a Creator-plan-and-above feature, with the free-tier row unchecked. That means free-tier real estate videos — including the new listing highlight and property tour formats — still carry a HeyGen watermark. For an agent trying to look professional to a prospective seller, that watermark is a real constraint the blog post doesn’t mention.
We also confirmed two gaps that remain unanswered on HeyGen’s own site: what happens once you’ve used your 3 free videos in a given month (the page doesn’t say whether you’re blocked entirely or offered an upgrade prompt), and whether free-tier videos come with commercial usage rights — meaning whether you’re actually allowed to use them for marketing or client-facing purposes at all. Neither is addressed in the pricing page or FAQ as of our check.

☀️ AMO, the budget-minded cat
I looked at this the way anyone counting dollars should: is free actually usable, or is this just a taste before the upsell? For a real estate agent testing the waters, 3 videos a month at 1 minute each is thin. A market update or a listing highlight can probably fit in a minute if you’re disciplined about scripting, but a property tour is a tougher squeeze — a minute doesn’t cover much square footage. And every one of those free videos comes out watermarked, so you can’t post it on a listing site or client-facing page without HeyGen’s branding showing.
If you’re serious about using this monthly, Creator at US$29/month (or US$24/month paid annually) is the real entry point — it removes the watermark, adds voice cloning, unlocks 175+ languages instead of 30+, and extends your video length to up to 30 minutes per video, with 600 credits a month that actually roll over to the next cycle. That’s a meaningful jump from the free plan’s hard caps. For a single agent posting one property tour and a couple of market updates a month, Creator covers it. I wouldn’t recommend Pro or Business unless you’re producing for a whole team — Business alone adds US$20 per extra seat on top of its US$149/month base, which adds up fast for a small brokerage.

🌙 PIMI, the performance-minded cat
My question is always: does it actually do the job well, and how fast? On quality, HeyGen backs up its real estate push with real evaluation numbers, not just marketing language — Avatar V hit a 4.98-out-of-5 identity match score in human evaluation, beating Google, ByteDance, and Kuaishou’s avatar systems on identity, lip-sync, and motion naturalness specifically. For an agent whose entire pitch is “trust my face,” that’s the number that matters most — a slightly-off avatar undermines the whole point.
But speed matters too, and this is where the free tier falls short: free-plan videos process on HeyGen’s slowest tier, “Standard.” If you’re trying to turn around a listing highlight the same day a property goes live, that’s a real bottleneck. Paid plans get faster processing, which for a working agent on a deadline is arguably worth more than the extra credits. The G2 awards — Most Realistic Avatar and Best AI Video Generator for small business — are self-reported by HeyGen, so treat them as one data point, not proof, but they’re consistent with the identity-match numbers HeyGen published. One more performance-relevant point: Avatar IV and Video Agent, HeyGen’s newer, more capable tools, are available even on the free tier — you’re not locked out of the good stuff, you’re just capped at 1 minute and slow processing.
Verdict: who should use it, who should skip it
Use the free plan if you just want to see whether AI avatar video works for your listings before committing money — 3 videos a month at 1080p is enough to test the format, even if the watermark and 1-minute cap make it unusable for real client-facing marketing. Upgrade to Creator (US$29/month, or US$24/month annually) if you’re an individual agent planning to post regularly — it removes the watermark, unlocks voice cloning and 175+ languages, and extends videos up to 30 minutes, with credits that roll over. Skip Pro and Business unless you’re outfitting a whole brokerage team, since Business adds US$20 per seat on top of its US$149/month base. And don’t expect “HeyGen for Real Estate” itself to be a separate, cheaper product — it’s the same pricing ladder with real estate templates on top, free-tier limits included.
