[News] Higgsfield Pricing: Is the Card-Locked Free Trial Still Worth It?
- Free tier: There is
- Cheapest paid plan: US$19/mo and up

Higgsfield just had its pricing re-checked on October 15, 2026, and the headline finding is simple: nothing moved, but one detail that looked like it might be a mistake in an earlier listing has now been confirmed as real. Starter, the entry-level paid plan, costs US$19 a month whether you pay monthly or commit to a year upfront. There is no annual discount on that tier. If you’re an AI video creator weighing whether to trust Higgsfield’s free trial or jump straight to a paid seat, here’s what the numbers actually say.
The free trial isn’t really free
Higgsfield’s free account exists, but it’s thin. You get access to “a few models,” in the vendor’s own words, with no monthly credits — the unit Higgsfield uses to meter how much video generation you can do. Credits are consumed per generation, and without a monthly allotment, a free account can’t sustain ongoing video output. It’s a sampler, not a workflow.

Illustration: The trial chest looks open to play, but demands a credit card upfront before the quiet countdown begins.
The more important wrinkle: Higgsfield offers new users a 24-hour trial, but it requires a credit card on file. If you don’t cancel before the 24 hours are up, it automatically converts to a paid subscription. This is a common pattern across subscription software, but it’s worth stating plainly because it changes the math on “trying before buying.” You’re not risk-free during that trial — you’re on a clock, and the default outcome if you forget is a charge.

Starter’s annual billing offers no discount
This is the detail our October 15 recheck confirmed. Three paid tiers exist:
- Starter: US$19/month, with 270 credits per month. Billed monthly or annually, the price is the same: US$19/month either way.
- Plus: US$59/month at the monthly rate, with 1,200 credits per month. Pay annually and the effective monthly cost drops to US$47.
- Ultra: US$129/month at the monthly rate. Pay annually and the effective monthly cost drops to US$99.
So Plus and Ultra both reward annual commitment with a real discount — roughly 20% off for Plus, about 23% off for Ultra. Starter gets nothing. If you’re on the entry tier, there’s no financial reason to prepay for a year. You keep full monthly flexibility at the identical price.
Higgsfield also runs a team plan for groups, starting at US$65 per seat per month (a “seat” is one paid user license on a team account), which includes at least 1,000 credits per seat per month. That undercuts Plus on a per-seat basis if you’re buying for three or more people, assuming your team’s usage fits within that credit pool.
What a credit actually buys you
Higgsfield doesn’t publish, in the data we verified, exactly how many credits one video generation costs — only the monthly allotments per tier. That matters for comparison shopping: 270 credits on Starter sounds like a lot until you don’t know the burn rate per clip. Before upgrading, generate a handful of videos on whatever tier you’re testing and watch how fast your credit balance actually drops. That’s the only way to know if 270, 1,200, or more credits per month lines up with your real output needs.

🔍 AMPM exclusive check
We re-verified Higgsfield’s pricing directly on the vendor’s live pricing page, switched to monthly billing in a US-region browser session, and cross-checked against our own prior build from October 9, 2026. The result: Starter, Plus, and Ultra monthly prices all matched the earlier record exactly — US$19, US$59, and US$129 respectively. The one correction we made internally was to our own billing-field label for Starter, changing it to explicitly confirm “monthly” billing produces the same US$19 price as annual billing, removing any ambiguity from the prior entry. In short: the vendor’s public numbers haven’t changed, but we now have higher confidence that Starter’s “no annual discount” is a deliberate pricing design, not a listing error on either Higgsfield’s side or ours. ☀️ AMO, the budget-minded cat

AMO only cares about one thing: is the free version of Higgsfield enough, or do you have to pay? For Higgsfield, AMO’s answer is blunt — the free tier is not built for sustained use. No monthly credits means no reliable way to keep generating videos once you’ve used your initial access, and the “few models” wording suggests you’re locked out of Higgsfield’s full lineup on a free account. The 24-hour trial is the real test drive, but it demands a credit card up front and silently converts to a paid plan if you don’t actively cancel. That’s not a trap exactly — it’s disclosed — but it’s not a no-risk trial either, so set a calendar reminder the moment you sign up.
If you do need to pay, AMO’s take is that Starter at US$19/month with 270 credits is the rational starting point for casual or testing use, and there’s zero financial penalty for staying monthly instead of committing annually — so don’t prepay a year on Starter thinking you’re saving money, because you’re not. The math changes once your needs grow: Plus at US$59/month (US$47/month if paid annually) and Ultra at US$129/month (US$99/month annually) both carry real annual savings, so if you’re confident you’ll stay subscribed for a full year at those tiers, prepaying is the better deal. For small teams, the US$65-per-seat team plan with 1,000 credits per seat is worth comparing against buying multiple individual Plus seats, since it may come out cheaper per person depending on headcount. AMO’s bottom line: test the free access and the 24-hour trial carefully, assume it will auto-bill if you forget to cancel, and only commit to annual billing once you’re past Starter.
Verdict: who should use it, who should skip it
Use Higgsfield’s paid plans if you’re already generating AI video regularly and need consistent character and motion consistency — the tool’s stated strength — and you’re comfortable managing a subscription with a monthly credit cap. Starter is a reasonable low-commitment entry point precisely because annual billing buys you nothing extra; stay monthly and keep your options open. If your usage is heavier, Plus or Ultra’s annual pricing is where the real savings kick in.
Skip it, or at least proceed carefully, if you were hoping for a genuinely free way to produce ongoing video content — the free account’s lack of monthly credits rules that out — or if you’re not ready to actively manage a credit card and a 24-hour cancellation window. Anyone who signs up for the trial and forgets about it will find themselves on a paid plan by default.
