Does Krisp Still Have a Free Plan? 2026 Check: The Pricing Page Now Shows Only a 7-Day Trial

Krisp is the app that strips the dog, the keyboard and the neighbour’s renovation out of your calls. For years one of its best-known selling points was a free tier with 60 minutes of noise cancellation per day — that is what almost every guide still says.

On 2026-09-03 we re-read the Krisp site directly and found something worth writing down: that number is no longer on the site.

What we actually saw

On the official pricing page (krisp.ai/pricing), the leftmost column is not labelled a free plan. It reads:

Free for 7 days / No credit card required

The features listed under it are generous: Unlimited Transcription, Unlimited Noise Cancellation, Unlimited Audio & Video Recording, Unlimited AI Notes & Action Items, plus “Limited” AI Accent Conversion. In other words — everything, for seven days.

The homepage (krisp.ai) is covered in “Get Krisp for free” buttons, but every one of them points at the sign-up page, and the homepage itself says nothing about whether that free is permanent or a trial.

Why we are not saying “the free plan is gone”

Because that would go past the evidence. What we can state is narrower: on the official pricing page and homepage, we cannot find any wording describing 60 free minutes of daily noise cancellation.

Three possibilities we cannot rule out:

1. The free tier still exists but is only visible inside the product after sign-up, and is no longer marketed on the site.
2. The free tier exists with different limits.
3. The free tier is genuinely retired in favour of a 7-day trial.

Telling these apart requires registering an account and looking inside — that means creating an account, which is outside our verification remit. So we stop here and mark the status as unverified rather than resolving it for them.

This site’s tool page already carried the caveat from 2026-08-28: the daily-minutes figure came from secondary sources, while the official pricing page showed only a 7-day full-feature trial. This round confirms that reading a second time.

What this means for you

If you were planning to run on Krisp’s free tier: do not build it into a long-term workflow yet. Check inside the product for yourself, or treat the seven days as an evaluation window and decide within it whether US$8–16 is worth it.

If you already use a free account: there is no official notice about existing free accounts being closed, so there is nothing to panic about. But quota changes rarely come with a press release, so keep an eye on it.

If you came for the noise cancellation itself: Krisp works by installing a desktop app that creates a virtual microphone and speaker. You select Krisp as your mic in Zoom, Teams or Meet, and any calling app gets the benefit. That has not changed, and it is the main thing separating it from noise suppression baked into one specific meeting app. It is downloadable in Taiwan with no regional restriction.

One more thing: do not assume Chinese transcription

Krisp’s official pages list 16+ transcription languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Korean and others) and Chinese is not among them — a limit recorded in our verification log.

What we could not verify

• Whether a free plan still exists after sign-in: not verified. It would require creating an account, outside our remit.
• When, or whether, the daily 60 minutes was removed: no official announcement found. We can show it is absent from the site today; we cannot show when it changed.
• Whether existing free accounts are affected: no official wording, so no speculation.
• Whether Taiwanese cards work at checkout: untested.
