Notion Affiliate Program 2026: Great Terms on Paper, But the Page Says It Is Closed to New Applicants
Article last updated:2026-09-06
If you want to earn something from recommending tools, Notion is usually the first name that comes up. The terms look generous and dozens of articles describe them. But when we read Notion’s official affiliate page today (2026-09-06), the single most important line on it was this: the program is currently not accepting new affiliates.
Here is what the page actually says, and what each line means in practice.
1. The terms as written
| Item | What the official page says |
|---|---|
| Commission | Up to US$50 per activated signup, plus 20% of year-one revenue for each referral |
| Qualifying event | A net new workspace that upgrades to a paid Plus or Business plan within 180 days of the click |
| Commission window | Year one revenue only |
| Attribution | Last click — your link must be the last touch point before signup |
| Clawback | Downgrades within 2 months may trigger a clawback or a deduction from future commissions |
| Self-referrals | Explicitly “not allowed” |
| Platform | PartnerStack |
| Current status | Not accepting new affiliates |
2. Three things people read wrong
“Up to US$50” is a ceiling, not a rate. The phrase up to means the amount varies by plan, region or promotion. Treat it as the best case, never as the per-signup price.
“20% of year-one revenue” is not lifetime. Some programs keep paying as long as the customer keeps paying. Notion’s is capped at the first year, so a referral who renews in month 13 is worth nothing to you.
A 180-day cookie is the best line in the table. Most programs give 30 days or less. Notion gives half a year, so a reader who clicks today and upgrades months later still counts. But it is paired with last-click attribution: if the reader clicks someone else’s link in between, that person gets the credit instead.
3. The clawback is the part that hurts
The page states that a downgrade within two months may be clawed back, or deducted from your future commissions.
In plain terms: what shows up in the dashboard is not money you own yet. A commission that appears this month can turn negative next month if the customer downgrades. This is common across affiliate programs, and it is the part most write-ups skip. When you compare programs, the question is not only “what percentage” but “when does it actually clear”.
4. It is closed — is it still worth watching?
The page lists the audiences Notion wants in some detail: bloggers, writers, entrepreneurs, educators, media networks, newsletter authors, content creators, influencers, Notion community leaders and ambassadors, and template creators. That level of detail suggests the program is alive and simply paused for new intake.
The realistic takeaway: do not reshape your content plan around a program you cannot join. When it reopens, the people who earn from it will be those who already had an audience and already talked about Notion. Publishing a batch of posts purely to qualify runs straight into last-click attribution and the clawback rule.
5. Still unverified
- Minimum payout and payment schedule: not stated on the public page; visible only inside the PartnerStack dashboard. Unverified.
- Reopening date for applications: not announced. Unverified.

What Amo and Pimi think
Students: Plus is free after verifying school email, no reason not to use it. General users: Plus at US$10/month is sufficient. Those who need Notion Agent and AI meeting recording: Business at US$20/month. Don't forget that annual payment saves 20%.
