VerifiedSocialEchoLatest verified priceBasic US$18.75 (monthly) · Team US$25.00 (monthly)

If you run social media for one brand by yourself, SocialEcho’s free plan might genuinely be all you need — for a while. This is a social media AI workspace: it schedules posts, syncs them across platforms, replies to comments and DMs, watches your competitors’ accounts, and reports on how your posts perform. The question most solo social media managers actually have is simpler than a feature list: how long does SocialEcho’s free tier last before you’re forced to pay, and is the US$18.75-a-month Basic plan worth it when that day comes?

Here’s what we found checking SocialEcho’s official pricing page directly, with no numbers invented or converted.

What the free plan actually gives you

SocialEcho calls its no-cost option the “Free Plan,” and it’s labeled “Forever Free” — meaning it isn’t a trial with an expiration date, it’s a permanent tier. On it, you get:

  • 1 team member (your own seat — in SocialEcho’s pricing, a “team member” or “seat” just means one login that can access the account)
  • 1 social media account you can manage
  • 30 days of analytics history
  • Competitor monitoring for up to 5 accounts per platform
  • Post scheduling
  • AI content creation tools
  • Manual replies to comments and direct messages

For a single person running a single Instagram or Facebook page, that’s a workable starting kit. You can plan posts ahead, use the AI writing tools, and keep an eye on five competitor accounts per platform without paying anything. There’s also a separate 7-day free trial of the paid features, and SocialEcho’s own FAQ states plainly that it requires no credit card to start and can be canceled anytime.

Where the free plan stops working for you

The free plan’s limits aren’t subtle once you hit them. Two restrictions matter most for a solo social media manager:

One account only. If you manage more than one brand, or even one brand across accounts you want to track separately, the free plan can’t do it. You’re capped at a single managed account, full stop.

No automatic replies. On the free plan, comments and DMs are handled manually — you read them and respond yourself. The automatic reply feature, which is one of the main time-savers in a tool like this, is locked to paid plans only. If the reason you wanted an AI social tool was to stop manually answering the same comment ten times a day, the free plan won’t deliver that.

Analytics retention is also short — 30 days, versus 180 days on Basic. If you want to compare this month’s engagement to six months ago, free won’t keep the history.

Basic vs Team: which paid plan fits a one-person shop

SocialEcho prices its paid plans by billing cycle, and the numbers are worth laying out exactly as the site shows them.

Basic costs US$18.75 a month on monthly billing. Switch to annual billing and it averages US$15.00 a month, for a total of US$180 for the year — SocialEcho advertises this as a 20% discount over paying monthly. Basic includes everything in Free, plus:

  • 5 managed accounts to start (you can buy more)
  • 180 days of analytics retention
  • 25 competitor accounts to monitor
  • Multi-platform publishing from one place
  • Automatic replies to comments and DMs
  • “Credits” worth 20% of what you pay — in SocialEcho’s system, credits are a usage allowance for AI actions, separate from your subscription fee
  • AI capability listed as “Limited”

Team costs US$25.00 a month monthly, or averages US$20.00 a month on annual billing (US$240 total for the year). It includes everything in Basic, plus unlimited team members and AI capability listed as “Full” instead of “Limited.” According to SocialEcho’s own plan comparison, Team costs US$6.25 more per month than Basic, and that gap buys you unlimited seats and the upgraded AI tier.

There’s also a quarterly billing option at 12% off the monthly rate, if annual feels like too long a commitment.

One detail that catches people off guard: both paid plans are priced around a 5-account minimum. Even if you only manage two accounts, you’re buying capacity for five — you can add more accounts on top, but you can’t buy fewer than five to start.

For a true one-person operation managing a single account, Basic is the plan that matters — Team’s main selling points (unlimited members, full AI) are built for teams, not solo managers. If you’re still solo but want automatic replies and a longer analytics window, Basic is the entry point. If you’re adding people to the account or need full AI power, Team’s extra US$6.25 a month gets you there.

Two things the official pricing page doesn’t spell out clearly:

First, the free plan’s AI content creation feature is listed as included (“yes”), but SocialEcho never publishes a usage number for it — no post count, no word limit, nothing. Compare that to the paid plans, where “Credits” are explicitly defined as 20% of what you pay. The free plan has no equivalent credit figure anywhere on the site. If you’re planning to lean on the free AI writer heavily, there’s no published ceiling to tell you when — or if — you’ll hit one.

Second, the 5-account minimum on paid plans is mentioned in passing rather than flagged as a pricing condition. It doesn’t show up next to the US$18.75 headline price — you have to read the plan details to find it. A single-account user upgrading from Free technically pays for four accounts of headroom they may never use.

Beyond those two gaps, nothing differed from the official page this time — every number above matches it, checked 2026-10-05.

Verdict: who should use it, who should skip it

Use the free plan if you manage exactly one social account, don’t mind replying to comments and DMs yourself, and only need 30 days of analytics history to make decisions. It costs nothing, doesn’t expire, and includes AI writing tools — a real toolkit, not a crippled demo.

Upgrade to Basic (US$18.75/month, or US$15.00/month averaged on annual billing) once manual replies become the bottleneck, or once you need more than one account, longer analytics history, or to watch more than 5 competitors per platform. Try the 7-day free trial first — SocialEcho says no credit card is needed, so there’s no risk in testing automatic replies before you commit.

Skip Basic and go straight to Team (US$25/month, or US$20.00/month averaged annually) if you’re bringing on a second person to help manage accounts, since Basic caps you at one seat no matter how many accounts you pay for. Team’s “Full” AI tier is also the only way to get SocialEcho’s complete AI capability — Basic is capped at “Limited.”
