Taskade's 6,000 Free Credits Are One-Off, Not Monthly: How to Spend Them in 2026

Article last updated:2026-09-03

Taskade is a workspace that mixes task lists, mind maps and AI agents. It changed how it charges in 2026, and the gap between old and new is wide enough to trip people up: a great many reviews still quote prices and quotas that no longer exist.

This piece covers one thing: what the free tier’s 6,000 AI credits actually are, and how to spend them without burning them on nothing.

Last verified: 2026-09-03 (pricing and quotas from this site’s direct read of the official pricing page on 2026-08-28, re-checked unchanged on 2026-09-03)

1. The headline: those 6,000 credits are one-off

Here is how the free tier’s AI credits are made up:

SourceCredits
Verify your email+1,000
First build+5,000
Total6,000 (one-off)

The phrase in brackets is the whole story: they do not refill, monthly or otherwise.

That runs against the mental model most free tiers have trained into us. Usually a free tier gives you N goes a month and resets on the first, so you can poke around at leisure. Taskade’s free credits behave more like trial money: enough to run the product once, end to end, and then it is gone. After that you either pay or stick to the features that do not consume credits.

Which makes “let me just play around first” the single most expensive strategy on Taskade.

2. The other free-tier caps

Beyond credits, the free tier includes (per the pricing page, read 2026-08-28):

  • 1 user (no sharing with teammates)
  • Up to 3 AI apps
  • 1 AI agent
  • 3 AI automations
  • 250MB storage
  • 500+ community templates

The single-user cap is the one that hurts if you were hoping to use it as a team tool. The free tier is really an evaluation seat for one person.

3. Paid plans: note that they are not per-seat

PlanAnnual, per month
ProUS$10
BusinessUS$25
MaxUS$100
EnterpriseUS$250

Two things differ from typical SaaS and are worth knowing:

  1. Paid plans are flat-rate, not per seat — Business and above are unlimited users. For a team of five to ten that usually beats “US$10 per person per month” comfortably.
  2. You can top up credits at any time, so running low is not a reason to jump to a more expensive tier.

⚠️ Ignore the old prices you find online. Our verification log records that the pre-2026 system charged for AI requests at US$29 / US$69 / US$149. All three are obsolete, yet plenty of reviews still quote them. Seeing those numbers is a reliable sign the article has not been updated.

4. Four ways to make 6,000 credits count

  1. Decide on a real job before you open the account. Not “let’s see what the AI can do” but something specific enough to check off, like “turn my weekly meeting notes into a task list automatically.” Exploration is expensive when credits are one-off.
  2. Build the structure with the non-AI features first. Lists, boards, mind maps and templates cost no credits. Get your data and project layout in place, then bring the AI in last — otherwise it generates a pile of things you did not want against an empty project.
  3. Start from one of the 500+ community templates rather than from zero. Having AI grow an entire workflow from nothing is the most credit-hungry thing you can do; adapting a template costs far less.
  4. Spend your one agent on the most repetitive job you have. With a single AI agent on the free tier, do not configure a jack-of-all-trades assistant. Pick the task you do every week in the same way every time.

5. Changing the interface language

Taskade’s interface supports 32 languages: avatar, top right → Change Language.

It is a global SaaS with no regional blocking; sign-up and card payment work from Taiwan.

6. When Taskade is the wrong tool for you

  • You need collaboration without paying: the one-user free tier stops you dead.
  • You want to run long-term on a free AI quota: 6,000 credits and done is not a tier you can live on. For allowances that genuinely refill, see our verified free-tier roundup.
  • You actually want workflow automation, not a workspace: something like n8n fits that shape better.

What we could not verify

  • How many credits each AI action consumes: the pricing page does not publish per-action costs, and we do not estimate. The advice above is directional, without invented numbers.
  • The price of topping up credits: not listed on the pricing page; unverified.
  • How long 6,000 credits lasts in real use: that needs an account and a full run. Untested, so not invented.

Let's take a look at these
