5. When things break: self-maintenance, errors and fixes
The process: (1) monitors patrol every few minutes and log failures; (2) an hourly failure patrol classifies them (program error, network, previous run still going…); (3) anything that recovers on its own, such as succeeding on the next run, is closed automatically; (4) if the same problem returns it is marked “recurring”, the old explanation no longer counts and the root cause must be re-investigated; (5) anything needing code changes or an irreversible action goes to a human.
